I have been so impressed with the quality of opinion placed on H/C about this matter.
Like you, my holding is well into the top 20.
I am a passive investor, happy to let the "experts" do the stock selection and be judged accordingly.
I hold no grudge against any of the parties, in fact I know little about any of them.
My forays into stock selection have seldom worked well. That is why I bought a large parcel of CTN about 9-12 months ago at attractive prices. In fact, I have placed most of my retirement funds with a selection of LICs.
I am totally bamboozled by the current carrying on - hence my plea for help to H/C commentators on 30/1/17!!
My initial thought was to go to the chairperson, when I received the letter from Carroll/Poutakidis, hoping for an independent view. Obviously, I was puzzled at that time as to why he had not been targeted, assuming that he was party to the board decisions that the aggrieved petitioners are so concerned about.
If he voted against the changes at a board meeting, I would be pleased to receive his views on these matters. If he was in support of the changes, then one can only be puzzled as to his current position on the fence and why he is not in the gun.
Without his contribution, all of the material provided by the two parties is meaningless is its contradictions and generalisations. We need the views of a quality chairperson to help us gauge the veracity of the claims and counter claims. Send us a letter, Mark.
In the absence of such, one is surely tempted to go with the devil you know.
