You are going out to Western Qld during one of the biggest droughts on record and last week was having record hot temperatures out West of around 40c. Ive spent time in W.Qld when I was in the army and it may not be what you think it is. Watch out for the herds of big Roos around Bourke. I lived in Canberra for a couple of years.Its not a bad place really, but be careful of the used drug needles in the parks and other places, the council has people going around cleaning them up. I had to get them into my place a couple of times to pick up used needles some AHole just emptied onto the lawn.

Make sure you go for a drive along the great ocean road in Vic and stay o'night down their somewhere.
