Very recently a stock I was invested in for 4 years that was going anywhere but up (actually bought in initially at 13.5c, then bought on the way down averaging at about 10.7c) had a sudden spike (to about 60c for a few days, then currently around 38-41c trading range). Anyway, I was up one night and reading the forums at around midnight when someone posted a very wild speculation that an associated company claimed they had discovered a 175m column of oil and posted a photo. He was taken down immediately for unsubstantiated information but surely enough the next day there was an announcement and that stock has been going great. Four years dormant, then all of a sudden it's game on. It doesn't take much to move this stock, I think there's so many watchful eyes that big corporations will buy in once its de-risked enough even at a small premium, that will drive the SP unreasonably high for a few days until people take their positions. When that happens, you sell after 2-3 days, and buy back in a month later. But I think with this stock, a month later after the initial announcement there would be announcements or orders and partnering that will either drive the price higher or help consolidate it. No doubt AKP haven't fully resolved all the technical issues, I still maintain there's an issue with the control system but if they can have a demo at the next AGM that would be sensational.
