My understanding was Newcrest selectively released good news and withheld bad news. I only know what I read but sounds like SGH to me. When all the wheels had already fallen off at SGH then AG was telling us a story about the UK bearing fruit.
SGH wasn't sued for guidance as far as I know but they were sued for dodgy accounts and failure of continuous disclosure to shareholders as required by law.
