Firestone will put the stone to sale at its next tender at the end of January 2019, according to a press release.
The miner also reported a “stabilisation in pricing” for the smaller, lower value stones (-3 grainers) at its recent sale, concluded on December 7. This stabilisation, Firestone said, “confirms the trend reported by other producers”.
In its most recent diamond production and sales report, referring to the first quarter of its 2019 financial year (ended September 2018), the miner recovered 240,733 carats from Liqhobong. Diamond sales fell to 194,206 carats, raking in $13.5 million; this, compared with the 261,985 carats which brought the miner $18.6 million in the previous quarter.
