Page 11 2009 annual report.
This Project is located within Permit GEP 1 which is held jointly by Green Rock Energy and UWA and covers 143 km2 of the Perth Metropolitan Area, including UWA’s Crawley Campus. It is designed to replace a significant portion of the UWA’s Crawley Campus’ electricity powered compression chillers (that produce cold water for air-conditioning) with geothermal powered absorption chillers.

The GDP has been set up by the Commonwealth Government to assist companies to develop geothermal energy by supporting proof-of-concept projects. The GDP is a competitive merit based program provided as a dollar-for-dollar subsidy, capped at $7 million per proof-of-concept project.
