Nothing sinister here and I tried to make it clear in my post. I for the sake of clarification I will expand and comment.
"Sampling program was very widespread". They were taking chip samples and stream samples. Chip samples are generally taken over an interval (say 1m) of rock exposure by literally chipping a piece off, repeating the process every 10cm or so to give a composite sample which hopefully will assay to the average mineral content of the rock. Stream sample are likely done in a similar way, usually sieving off the coarsest rocks and combing samples over the width of the stream. Again the idea is to give an average assay.
Assays "returned interesting anomalous results". These samples were taken to give a general feel for the average mineralisation and not to identify mineral hotspots. They need to target a drilling program so general trends in the mineralisation are important.
"... not material enough to report." This is why there has been no announcement as yet. The way the samples were collected was to give average trends in mineralisation. Slightly anomalous results are important for the Geos siting drill locations, but the investing public looks for the bigger picture.
In this case the bigger picture is the drilling program that will be designed from the sampling results. I directly quoted Gauci in relation to this expected announcement so you know as much as I do.
