Regarding the timeline again, thought I'd check out how one of the neighbours were travelling regarding their applications.
MCT announced the following on 30th December, 2015 -
Metalicity Limited (ASX:MCT) (“MCT” or “ Company”) is pleased to report that, complimentary to its well-funded base metals focus, the Company has lodged three ELA’s covering an area of over 450 km2 considered highly prospective for Lithium, Tantalum and Tin mineralisation, located in the Pilgangoora/Wodgina district of the Pilbara Region, WA. The Pilgangoora South Project (Applications E45/4675, E45/4676 and E45/4677) is located 5 km southwest of the Pilgangoora Lithium deposits (Pilbara Minerals/Altura Mining), where the world’s second largest deposit of spodumene (hard rock lithium) has recently been defined. The Metalicity licence application areas are also located adjacent to the Wodgina operations of Global Advanced Metals, where one of the largest hard rock resources of tantalum is located
MCT announced the following on 12th October, 2016 (10 days ago) -
Metalicity Limited (ASX:MCT) (“MCT” or “Company”) is pleased to announce drilling at the Pilgangoora South Lithium project is imminent after completion of Standard Heritage Agreements with the Traditional Owners and subsequent grant of E45/4677 (Stannum) by the Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP). A Program of Work (POW) application has been submitted and once approved will allow drilling activity to commence, expected in November 2016.
So in reality, from late December (2015) to POW application approval (come November 2016), is 11 months.
CUL announced the following on 20th January 2016 -
Cullen Resource Limited (“Cullen” or the “Company”) has lodged four exploration licence applications over areas totalling ~280km2 that it considers prospective for rare metal, tin-tantalum-lithium (SnTa-Li) pegmatite mineralisation for further evaluation and prioritisation .....
Pilbara (~200km 2 ) Two applications are in the Pilbara Region: one (ELA 45/4626) ~ 30km north east of the Pilgangoora Lithium deposits* where the world’s second largest deposits of spodumene (lithium-bearing pyroxene) has recently been defined; and one (ELA 45/4682) in part immediately west of the Wodgina Mine**, one of the world's largest hard rock tantalum resources, and stretching north along strike and then east-west over a linear zone of pegmatitic granite in contact with greenstone
