Have been giving some thought to Western Powers plans for SPS and I believe there are some unanswered questions on exactly what it is they are trying to achieve.
The recently completed trial at Ravensthorpe, was not I believe strictly stand alone in the true sense. From what I understand, the farms were all grid connected, albeit with an unreliable supply of electricity.
The question I have in my mind is, is it planned only to put SPS in edge of the grid locations to supplement the grid?
Or is the intention to put them in locations that are completely off grid as well?
If it is the former, why carry out another trial for something that has been proven to work?
Perhaps this trial of sixty SPS, will be for a variety of situations different to those at Ravensthorpe?
Perhaps at locations that are completely off grid?
Perhaps using SPS of varying size and capacity?
Perhaps for situations other than farms?
