In theory, carbon pricing should embody the principle of polluter pays. There is certainly a risk that carbon credits will distort that. However, I remain to be convinced that mallee plantings are taking food off the world's table. Ethanol on the other hand is a classic market distortion and I can't imagine an ethical investor like YC having a dime of it. Hold on - just noticed YC holds COZ, so that's a relief.
