Haha, just stay clear of that technical analysis bullshit and we will get on just fine. I am a mean bastard but it's for their own good.
My position on hedging previously is the company was idiotic
    1. To not have hedged at $100 in 2014 and then
    2. having raised all this money to have hedged for prices below $50 12 months ago when these were unlikely.
The second position was controversial at the time but has been vindicated by the sequel as I believe we are above the 3 way collar price making present hedging unfavourable.
At $70 I guess hedges make sense but I don't see that they alter the value of the company much. I think there's a lot of skepticism around this oul price, i.e there's a chance it won't be sustained.
I have been wrong enough not to make any firm statements there but watching the rig count and the inventory drawdowns makes me think the correction I have been waiting for is occuring.
There's been no structural change to the cost of producing oil it's still $70+ probably more like $100 to replace what we are using.
So I guess the answer is no not opposed to a little hedgin at these sort of prices, the company is making good money.
Overall very opposed to hedging as it's another way of shirking responsibility which has adverse consequences.
The boom and bust cycles of the oil market have many really devastating consequences, not just for shareholders but more importantly communities depending upon the income.
Hedging, paid managers without skin in the game, analysts and excessive diversification all mean no-one takes responsibility.
In a sane world the owners of this company.
    1. Would have stopped GLNG and sacked the CEO and board for suggesting it. Put someone invested in the company in there.
    2. Invested countercyclically like I did. Rather than slashing to the bone destroying both communities and skill base spend aggressively on exploration during a downturn. Rates will never be cheaper.
If they had done 1, billions would have been saved the shares wouldnt have tanked and I wouldnt have any.
If enough businesses acted in this way there would be no downturn. It would also be a minor issue to switch to renewables which the planet desperately needs.
