I think if people calculated the reality of time (hours) they put into running their own self employed business they'd be on less than the average wage. It may appear glamorous to say I run my own business, I am the managing director etc. but titles don't pay bills! I also note that the tax office is forever tightening business claims when once they were likely a bit more lenient.
One the positive side anyone that does well deserves the spoils as they have risked a lot to achieve success, but many will succumb along the way.
