Japan fresh -- they do need to make a profit though, and we don't know what the real wholesale costs are.
I also suspect you will get more and more competition from pre-paid players.
Eg. A bunch of European SIMs now offer free roaming in the EU/UK ( and the 3 UK SIM also adds US/Aus and some of Asia).
Starhub in Sing has introduced a great prepaid offer for select countries (granted not as many as Flexiroam) but S$7 for 1Gb
