The only additional point I would offer is that JD deliberately avoided the US VC route (which he knows well from both sides) so as to avert internal conflicts of interest during the critical phase.
He has engineered this level of control. Looking forward (with some hope, but also a degree of expectation) to see how the walk gets walked.
