Mr T,
What a question you table.
This by no means constitutes any financial advice... that’s my disclaimer.
This is a speculative stock. The Company are still in the process of achieving a viable commercial product and until that point in time it will have an element of risk attached, hence the market value. But every business trading in the world from your local corner store to the likes of Apple All originated from such humble beginnings. The question is at what point does one invest... at today’s low pricing? or when something more tangeable has been released to the market and of course pay a premium to participate. Talk of A$3 and A$4 is fools gold (but I would take it!) IMO the only way to trade a speculative stock is to make trades along the way and preserve your capital (hopefully a free ride) on the release of major news. In addition to this, one must review the history of the business itself, the time it has been trading, the capital invested to date, any substantial material such as patents, working relationships such as the one with IMEC and the behaviour of the BOD. Have they milked the business or continued to invest their own money. And then one must consider the market they are targeting and the value the product would represent and the market share it must achieve to maximise the value. All of the signs indicate that when they reach the point their product is commercially viable the rewards would be astronomical but they must reach that point first. IMO the BOD are strongly focussed on producing a commercial product and it is more a question of WHEN, not if.
Investing funds from Super with a long term wish of A$3 to A$4 would be a poor strategy but there will be opportunities for excellent (sensible) returns in the short term along the way and if managed correctly will provide far higher returns than the Banks and most Super funds the way they are performing at the moment.
I wish Steve the best of luck with his choices.
Good Luck All
