D17 is the best "recipe" to build upon for the design of the next iteration, which will be managed by IMEC. The actual testing and analysis of the wafers goes on at 4DS own facility, so both can happen in parallel without impacting negatively on the progress of the other. 

We've paid for all these wafers, as much is learnt from the failures as the success, we may as well extract as much as we can from the material we have to hand. Who knows, the testing may reveal the potential for a product we haven't even considered yet. There's a saying in science and engineering, you can never have too much data.
