Wenty I have done quite a lot of research around cars. Mostly because I own shares in oil, but same for Li.
From memory India has about 35 cars per 1000 people. China around 135, and the USA about 850 per 1000.
For India to just catch up with China requires over 100 million cars and with India booming it will be a very large consumer Li as it's the only alternative to avoiding the pollution problem China has.
There are about 70 million cars produced world wide per year. DB
