The share's of barramundi breeder Australis Aquaculture commenced trading on 4 August 2004. The stock listed at $A0.29, after being issued at $A0.25 a share, and ended its first day of trading at $A0.275. Australis raised $A5.5m in its initial public offering, and will use some of the proceeds to finance the acquisition of a fish "grow out" facility in New York. The facility will be used to drive Australis's expansion into the North American seafood market, which is worth $A55bn
