Driving east from Isphahan you come to the city of Yazd. I believe that this is now the centre of the Zoroastrian religion in Iran and features a fire temple.(They worship fire.) I think that the Yazidis take their name from this city.
The Zorastrian religion used to be the main one under the Persian empire and, apparently, is still allowed by the muslim government.
