The problem is with many Lefty Socialists they've had no close encounters with Muslims in general. I'm sure all the Lefty Muslim lovers will come out in their defense but most really have no idea what they're dealing with.
I've spent many years travelling the Middle East and will agree that there are the good and the bad, unfortunately the bad outweigh the good.
Some 30 years ago on a 4 month trip encompassing Egypt, Sinai, Jordon, Israel, West Bank and Gasza, I happened to take an old ship from Dahab in Southern Sinai to the Port of Aqaba in Jordan. It was meant to be a 4 or 5 hour trip, in the early evening a couple of hours after we departed a huge storm hit, the Gulf of Aqaba is well known for storms at certain times of the year. This was no ordinary storm, I've been an offshore sailor for 50 years and whilst it wasn't the worst storm I've encountered it was the worst due to the people on board and the condition of the ship.
As the storm intensified the Port of Aqaba was closed so no boats could enter the harbor so the ship had to heave too in what was frightening conditions for the people on board. The ship was like most in those parts 30 years ago, it was overloaded with passengers. The passengers were 90% Arab males mostly in their 20's to 30's going to find work in Jordan. Hundreds of these passengers were on deck when we left Dahab, my wife and I were inside as we tried to keep away from the masses, as the storm intensified further they all moved inside. It became chaos as they pushed and shoved their way inside, my young Asian wife was pushed and shoved. Manners, they knew no manners, they were like animals. when they wanted to go to the toilet they just urinated where they stood.
Now the boat was pitching violently and I guess most were thinking it was the end, the Gulf of Aqaba creates steep waves when the winds are blowing straight up the Gulf, now they were vomiting everywhere and the floors were awash with urine. The stench was unbelievable but it was the attitude of the passengers that was most frightening as they pushed and shoved us. The storm lasted nearly 10 hours and it wasn't till midday the next day before the ship could dock. My wife was only one of a couple of women onboard and its an experience she well remembers.
I'm sure the Lefty Muslims lovers will say that most people would react the same way in those conditions, I doubt it. Some years later we were on a ship between Morocco and Spain when the engine room caught fire and the entire ship was filled with smoke and the crew had us prepared to evacuate the ship. Most of the passengers were Spanish and French, they all conducted themselves well, yes with panic but did not push and shove my wife around as though she was inferior to them.
Today my wife votes for Pauline Hansen. She says she's the only politician who understands.
