Although you have a bit over 3 decades on me and it sounds like you have done way more reading on the matter, I agree with your comments.I don’t have a problem with the research being put into storage systems, understand that most if not all areas being explored today will not amount to much more than a different way to pollute the planet but I am confident that someone will eventually mumble Eureka and it will be “ Off to the Races” down that particular path
When? I hope for sooner rather than later.
PS Governments are the epitome mismanagement, that’s a given and any leap of technology will occur inspite of their efforts not because of them!! ( does that sound very cynical?)
