I think you're doing a bit of back pedalling here. You posted " All I ever said that Tesla doesn't deserve the credit for inventing the electric car ".
You're words not mine. No one on here ever said that Tesla invented the ev.
I'll wager that you haven't seen the detail of the engineering that Tesla has put into their cars to make them work. I offered you sources but it appears you've not chosen to view them.
What we are saying is that it was Tesla that fast forwarded the industry. They made electric cars practical and cool which has attracted the attention of the investment community. Once the money started coming in and the big car makers realised there was a market, the r and d was ramped up. Now we are starting to see some really good versions appear from all the manufacturers. This would not have happened so quickly if it wasn't for Tesla.
Can you name another ev company that has achieved what Tesla did when they did it ?
Very similar to what Apple achieved with the Iphone.
Then you've given the example of a home built ev and suggesting anyone can build an ev . What you fail to acknowledge is that no could build a mass market ev that meets all the saftey standards in both Europe and the US until Tesla did. Even the example you suggested is after Tesla had been building cars for a decade or so.
I do agree that the silver bullet for evs is batteries that are probably twice the energy density of today and with the charging capability etc to go with that. But , there wouldn't be a need for that battery development if it wasn't for Tesla getting global attention because of it's vehicles.
As to the personal flaming, I'll leave that up to you. I'm only here to discuss the innovation.
