Looks like SMR will open down about 10% this morning, though there's still plenty of time for that to change. One seller at 1.10, but mostly buyers withdrawing. IMHO China are going to bully everyone and everywhere that they can get away with, and it will get a lot worse before it gets any better thanks to their poisonous Emperor-for-Life - and if we cave in at any time it will get much much worse (appeasement never works).

But just how big is the threat to SMR? I would appreciate others' thoughts, but it seems to me that China and the rest of the world needs coal. If China doesn't buy ours, we will in due course and hopefully quickly find another buyer, unless there's a global recession/depression. This argument will hurt Australia short term, but it will soon hurt China too, unless they can divide-and-conquer.

Anyone have a functioning chrystal ball??
