China is investing heavily in artificial intelligence and has even surpassed the United States’ expenditure in this field. In particular, Chinese hospitals are looking to use artificial intelligence to help diagnose lung cancer patients at a younger age. Early diagnosis greatly increases a patient’s chance of recovery and survival. As China’s population ages quickly, the Chinese demand for healthcare is only growing, and greater integration of artificial intelligence into the health field will help the country meet the increasing demand.
