I don’t think the FMs do the ‘flushing out’ or any of that style of activity. If anything, I believe they are even more potentially impacted because of the size of their positions (they work to counteract this).
WRT dividends, I can’t see an income fund (who want divs in the longer term) being already on board! Maybe NRW are getting the feedback from potential investors that divs would get them onboard, not sure. The holder institutions asking for divs I would guess are aware that the market values companies paying dividends at a higher pe multiple than those that don’t.
Wellington is a value/high conviction fund I think, so probably not interested especially in divs (could be wrong).
