@All - Having spoken to both AGL and Click energy - (who are new here) the problem isnt really at retail level - they have developed plans to cover risk - Click has gone to a monthly debit and then a 90 day top-up. AGL has been trying to get customers to move to a monthly charge adjusted via readings every 90 days. The spot price has been a problem but - for example Click is clever in attracting the 5Kw solar clients which means that during peaks you are probably using very little. E.G. mine I am a net exporter during the day but a user at night. What a lovely client to have. Pity for some reason Click are not allowed to take clients above 5kw.
I would have thought the margin covers the price and ERM are already supplying SME's here.
