The earliest successful exploration strategy in the industry was to focus on finding OIL and GAS seeps associated with large SURFACE ANTICLINE structures and then drill them. By the early 20th century, however, most all onshore surface ANTICLINES with OIL seeps had been drilled.
WHY are there none left?? Because as a predrill indicator, as TAG geologist said it is "as good as it gets".
