Firthy ,apology accepted and also I wish to withdraw my comments that also were abrasive.
I may as well get out the way the fact that in my research I had not looked at the latest releases and have to acknowledge the approvals had been granted as 14th Jun paving the way for synergistic opportunities with other airlines on international routes.
The appointment of the new Financial officer is welcome news but I have not researched his track record so the litmus test will be in his results on fuel hedging. I see fuel prices staying high for the medium future for a number reasons. Pointless elaborating too far .for now, among other things.. fuel prices are high for the US summer which means the US winter prices of light sweet crude are likely to be high as per usual or higher than now. I know OZ fuel is priced out on a calculation of bringing it in from Singapore but the two mirror each other.
I post on VBA because it entering a buy on my radar.
Why am I talking 20 cents and not 28 cents as entry point??
If you look at a graph of VBA you will see it is pegged very closely to the DOW and ASX falls and not its long term fundamentals.
Any gain from the alliances must simply equal the 5.3% loss in ticket sales over the last 12 months to break even with the previous yr to start moving the SP the right way.
People can take my view of very much increased seismic activity in the Southern Hemisphere with a grain of salt of they must , but people can not ignore a confirmed falling market and unstable economies that will likely in the short term, drag down all the giants with better P/E ratios than Virgin with it and companies that pay dividends at that. Perhaps I will miss the bounce and perhaps I wont but don't anticipate the huge purchases of the fund institutions to wade in just yet IMHO, nor the mums and dad investors to prop it up. I would rather buy at 35 cents on the way up and admit I am wrong after great new fundamentals start working on the profit loss sheet, and a fresh confirmed SP direction than buy at 28 cents and see it float slowly down (oversold) defying logic because we thought it cant go lower. Jesse Livermore once said you make your real money waiting. Of course you must buy at some point. Damo....out.
