I have used Pointerra on multiples standard laptops and never had any issues, albeit internet speed is always going to be factor. The public data is easily viewable to those with an account, it shows you the size of each data set, along with the date it was loaded. Pointerra usually load something every 6 weeks on average, but there are also other uploads available publicly. There was an upload by Veris Aus, but a tiny data set of 17.1m points, so it didn't account for the massive increase last week.
