Sorry Suzygs your qns indicates a basic lack of understanding of milk marketing. The supermarkets' milk (by and large) comes by way of the processors not directly from producers. But when the supermarkets have a dominant marketing position then they are in the powerful position of setting price.... As to your consumer survey of one, I'll leave that to you. If you believe there's been a 42% upkick in milk consumption against the evidence then you'll probably believe the earth is flat. I'll finish this off by saying all fair minded consumers should boycott the cheap home brand stuff - as mentioned in an earlier post in this thread when milk is cheaper than bottled water, something is very very wrong.
