Don't be so sure that Woolies won't be interested. Sure they would loose some wholesale business from independent pharmacists with very strong "pharmacist only ownership principles" but the world is changing. Pharmacy is very much Corporatised already and arguments for individual pharmacist ownership will not stand for ever. Many pharmacists might prefer to align with Woolies now rather that face them as competition in perhaps the next decade! Also, I am sure they would be keen to take on and grow the Priceline Pharmacy concept and do it a lot better than API.
Woolies will establish themselves in the Pharmacy market sooner or later. The purchase price would be peanuts to Woolies and worth the chance to get a foot in the door don't you think? I think most shareholders would be happy with $2.80 to $3.00 given the recent demise.
