Nice to see you visiting our sparsely populated chatroom, MarsC. I won't go as far as saying that airlines are great investments but at the right price anything can be a good investment.
It would be wonderful to see DC3 flying to the regional towns, in fact I think it would boost tourism and pax numbers as they'll be more joyrides, lol. The point I was trying to make was that if they keep up the scheduled maintenance of the Saabs, they'll keep going for a long long time. Put it this way, I have been a shareholder since 2012 and the average 15 year lifespan for the Saab fleet has not changed in 6 years. I understand this is because there was lifespan extension by the manufacturer, Rex updating the fleet with newer 340Bs and the current size of the fleet means that each plane doesn't fly an excessive amount of hours (7x weekly Sydney - Wagga run nothing compared to 3x weekly Sydney - London service).
