Did anyone mention ETFs as a long term set and forget investment vehicle? They seem ok but as I understand it the funds can fold in a crisis...otherwise lower volatility and readily tradeable like equities. Many types...commodities include oil/ gold ... not my thing but read they're pretty good for this type of investing.
