I have a problem with the way the term "risk" is used, just as investment and speculation are confused so risk is misunderstood.
40% is certainly more than I would typically hold in one stock for the aforementioned reasons.
- Shareprice fluctuations (beta) are not "risk" they are opportunity.
- My main protection from risk is understanding what I own and paying a low price.
- Realistically I only have time for 3-5 stocks as I work full time.
Disruption is always something to watch for but there are a number of technical challenges to overcome first. I wish STO was spending it's money being part of the solution rather than focussing on the rape if one of the last bits of Aussie bush in the Pillaga.
