The world is not twiddling their thumbs when it comes to storage solutions, and if China chose to, they could take one look at 1414's concept put 200 engineers on the job and within a short period of time (1 month max) they would have one up and running. IMO of course, this concept is definitely NOT rocket science.

The Efficiency % is going to be a key factor in 14's potential sales, and the Efficiency results (the results are expected to be reported later in November) are still nowhere to be seen.
   I know that they have said "expected", but fair shake of the stick, they were only going to be running into early November. Prior to silicon loading they were able to come up with a CHP of 68% pretty snappy, what gives now?

What would happen to the refractory and the box if the silicon were allowed to cool and expand 10%?

One big race in the world ATM are the $$dollars$$ that are being literally pumped into battery technology, it's staggering, company's and university's from one side of the globe to the other all gunning for the top prize.
Cost of electricity generation across the world is falling and will continue to do so. Power stations around the world are losing money.
Many Australia's pay to much for electricity thanks to privatisation. It has given company's the ability to reap profits, but they will not have the upper hand forever.
