All this talk of tax only clouds the issue. Sooner or later the tax man will hold out his hand regardless of a take over or not. Sooner or later a holder will need to sell, transfer or give away the shareholding even if they are held until death do us part. You make a profit you pay tax. The amount of tax depends on when you buy, how much you actually pay and how you structure your investments. I try and pay no more tax than necessary but the end result is that the more I pay the more I made. Think of those hard working and underpaid public servants, they need plenty of tax revenue to fund their early retirement. (or do they)
