I see Sth Australia gets a Guernsey more than once.
Of some interest to me was Ionic Industries proposed Chairman's address to the Sth Australian Royal Commission on Nuclear energy .
He said ( I'm paraphrasing) ,With Nuclear power as a base load proposition, in conjunction with renewables, Sth Australia could be energy self- sufficient.
In the electricity sector we have the opportunity of fairly
quickly decarbonising it. Nuclear energy is one
solution. One draw back however is that nuclear plants
have been designed for centrally supplied (legacy) grids
and as base load plants. However the grids worldwide are changing.
They are becoming smarter having two way
communications and embedded sensors that facilitate
the deployment of distributed generation such as
photovoltaics and wind power and distributed storage
such as in the home battery banks, grid storage and
electric vehicles. This transformation process to a smarter
grid has been phenomenal in just the last five years
