I have never seen oppies not have a time premium involved when there is so long to go to conversion.
Really? I have seen it plenty of times. PLENTY. In fact until recently,a perfect example, was RMX. I hold RMXOG shares (long-dated 2019) and when RMX was rising quickly sometimes the options were trading at a substantial DISCOUNT to the fpo. And it stayed like that for a few weeks. I took advantage of it by exercising options and selling fpo and buying more options. Even now that the share price has settled, the premium is just .1c and has been hovering back to zero at times.
We may soon find out but I can almost guarantee oppies will not be 1c when fpo is 1.4c. .7/.8 most likely, .9c at a stretch if very lucky.
Regardless, it doesn't matter which one you are invested in, if you believe the current share price is cheap, there is money to be made in both shares and oppie investment. It really depends on what share price you think it can reach and your investment time frame and your risk appetite as to which one you go for. Me I think there is enough profit potential and risk in the fpo's.
