"best fit".

If the Data processed is genuine and not contaminated
by "grooming" then I would expect some value from the result , however any old numbers would crunch to an answer.

The small amount of recent data in the case of GGE and the
unusual movement plus the fall out from the Con
and previous large off market buying by CIB leaves numbers
that do not impress as strong input.

GGE Sp has been wandering around lately, but as you suggested, Least Square Regression may point in the right direction.
