    It does not equal 1, it just progressively smaller and incrementally never reaches 1 forever. It approaches it, but it doesnt reach it, no matter how small a delta there is. If it did reach 1, that would imply that there is a finite increment that broaches the gap. If that were the case, it would no longer be infinite but finite to that many places, however small.

    1-0.9 = 0.1
    1-0.99 = 0.01
    1-0.999 = 0.001
    1-0.9999 = 0.0001
    and so it goes, there will always be a difference no matter how far you go.
