As we speak now these 5 automakers are the laggards in the EV space. None offer a long range EV.
IMO the desperation of German Auto workers, seems to be a more accurate reading of the market. Besides, certain people in management of the VAG group have their own deiselgate issues taking centre stage.
Recent sales figures from Germany indicate that EV sales are taking off.

Tesla started this journey as a small luxury car manufacturer, with a small labour force. As the company expands it's operations to mass volume manufacturing, the implementation of ever more robots in the production line, indicates to me, the future is starting to take shape in the auto industry.
Time will tell, always does.
