    Steve,

Good response, appreciate the thought and effort. I guess we do come to a glass half full vs. half empty view of February - hopefully an outlier of a month. We'll only have to wait a few more days to see how March panned out.

As for career, if you call schlepping around Asia with a jet engine strapped to your backside stellar (I don't) then I've "made it". If you do it enough the airlines will even let you into their first class lounge even when you are traveling down the back....French Champagne and all :-)!

The last time I travelled to NZ I reckon I drank, ate and massaged my airfare away before I had even boarded the airplane. Goes to my point about maintaining cost control, business class passengers are expensive buggers to win and maintain.

Let's see how we go on the profitability front. Jetstar made 3 x the profit that VAH made for the 1st half FY12 (with 20 fewer aircraft) with virtually no business travel penetration. I just make the point that it may be too early to declare victory on the new strategy, even though I agree it has been well communicated and execution to date very good.

Look forward to some further back and forth with you over the next few months.

    Matt
