Lokio1 - Ed Eshuys did run SBM, however you are completely incorrect that it was a very poor performer, ED took over SBM when its share price was at around 4.9 cents and up until the Global Financial Crisis, the SP went up to as high as I think, 98 cents.
Even when he was replaced as CEO, the SP was still around 35 to 40 cents from memory. These increases in SP were without a Share consolidation. Later down the track, SBM did a share consolidation (1:6) and therefre its SP now (about $2.30) is still around the old 35 to 40 cents level.
In addition, there arent a lot more people out there that no more than Ed when it comes to Gold Mining in Wester Australia. If anyone can turn this thing around, I wold say Ed is in the handful ofpeople that probably could. IMO!
