The Warehouse Group and Miller's Retail are discussing the possibility of combining their businesses for a sale. About four private equity firms have indicated interest in the businesses. The merged business would comprise over 400 stores and could be worth about $A300 million. Miller's is undertaking a strategic review and could recommend that the struggling discount business be sold. Each business controls about seven per cent of the discount department store market.
