SC55 will be well known to BHP and Otto Energy (OEL) investors; the high regard the prospect is held amongst investors (and of course BHP) has been the catalyst for OEL's strong share price performance over the past 3 months (have a look at the rising on-balance volume on OEL on a 3 month chart). 'SC55 is located offshore from the Palawan Islands in the Philippines. Otto Energy is the operator of this project. In its July 26, 2011 ASX announcement, Otto stated that it "is currently working with BHP Billiton to finalise farm-in arrangements and prepare for the drilling phase of exploration activities".

According to Otto, SC55 contains both carbonate and sandstone reservoir targets, with the Hawkeye and Cinco prospects the two most "drill mature" in the present portfolio. '
