Yes masso1 - I will comment - as I understand it the heritage application allows any amount of recreational fisherman to cross the song lines as well as other marine traffice and I think commercial fishing BUT not any mining which of course would take up only a very, very samll footprint on any seas covered by songlines

The threat is something that needs to be considered in itself - as the minister really has not told the company exactly what the heritage that needs to be protected is

Assuming it is the song lines then this application has the potential to derail mining in the NT based on subjective cultural peramiters (remember songlines are not confined to water) - a very dangerous place to put themselves as a government - also the NT Chief Minister has not helped to create any confidence for explorers in the NT with his comments about seabed mining

We need martin Ferguson to do what he is paid to do and sort this farce out
