Hi All, I have a question that i'm struggling to find an answer for on cgt, which is triggered by the aggregation proposal. The effect will be that for those who bought at under 18c, cgt will be payable? Good old Grant Samuel says that this will reset the cost base at 18c. But I'm not sure if this also resets the "date of purchase" for subsequent cgt.
ie bought cer for 8c, >12 months ago, 10c subject to cgt on aggregation[with the 12 month ownership concession in place] then , say you sell your units for 30c, 1 month post aggregation, have you lost your 12 months cgt discount on the 12c "profit" over your new cost base of 18c?
cheers
