re: Ann: Update on Shaw River's suspensio... My impression, from the tone of this announcement, is that week(s) is going to be optimistic, and so I expect we may be looking at some serious court preparation and presentation time, as well as time spent on legal research, and then deliberation and judgements, and possibly appeals.

I think we may be talking months (and possibly into January 2012), with the occasional update every couple of weeks along the way, simply to say that things are progressing.

This is just a guess. I do not know how complex the issues really are, or how quickly the Namibian courts work (but if they are like other African courts, and there is no reason to think not, then they are not going to work quickly).

I believe there has also been a recent delay to all court cases in Namibia (and hence many cases are now backed up), because the courts refused to open for business during the Rugby World Cup, this may give us some indication as to urgency with which Namibia will treat these legal issues.

The company has not explained anything to shareholders, and I get a sense that it will not until this is all over, and even then, we may only get peripheral or cursory information.

Does anyone know if there is an ASX legality preventing a company from disclosing detailed information on company legal and court matters to it's shareholders, or is it just the company policy?
