Just went though the bio of the guy. He was heading the CBM effort of Conoco in Europe in the early 90's before the improvements in drilling completion technology we experienced here and also in the US.
He should know the european coals very well !!! And his subsequent experience in the US plus the support of Bresnehan (aussie expertise) and the other technical team member with US and Canadian expertise should finally get the technical side of the project right.
Briens co founded BPZ his previous company. Drove the value of the company from 0 to a USD2 bn valuation at some point (now USD400m).
Let's hope he can generate the same sort of returns for the EGL shareholders as well.
