    Mac Bank buys Riverina land
Staff reporters | August 24, 2011 MACQUARIE Bank's Paraway Pastoral Company is said to have snapped up another slice of the western Riverina.

According to industry rumours, Paraway has purchased between 16,000-18,000ha of TA Field Estates' Pevensey Station, west of Hay. The Field family is said to have retained Pevensey's farming land.

The sold country is adjacent to the 42,750ha Mungadal Station, which Paraway purchased last year.

The sale would bring Paraway's land total in the western Riverina to more than 170,000ha.

It purchased the 19,656ha Pooginook Merino stud at Jerilderie in 2007, the 46,351ha Steam Plains Station at Conargo in 2008 and the 90,655ha Cooinbil Station at Carrathool last year.

TA Field Estates last year sold Hunthawang Station at Hillston to the NSW Parks and Wildlife Service.

As well as the Pevensey farming land, it retains properties at Carrathool, Jugiong and Walcha.

A Macquarie Bank spokeswoman said the company did not comment on market speculation
